Release 4
HEY Y'ALL! PINBALL MASTER FLIPPER has reached its 4th (and maybe final?) release!
Wow, we really came a long way! Back in December we only had a circle bouncing off of basic geometry, and now look at this! We the devs are all proud of what we accomplished.
Thanks to everyone who playtested our game, gave suggestions, and supported us throughout its development. We would have not done it without you. Now that our 4th release is done. It's about time to put future developments for the project on hold, or rather, we might work on the game more when we get free time... I have plans for something ambitious... but i'm not gonna tell you what it is! HAH!
Below is our pretty extensive list of changes since RELEASE 3:
◆◇◆◇ADDITIONS◆◇◆◇
- Added our 3rd and final stage: FINAL FACTORY.
┗ Avoid the ball from tripping the laser too many times or else you'll summon the boss.
┗ This is a rather difficult stage where it may or may not be harder to reach the other modes without fighting the boss... Maybe.
- Added a Ranking System (leaderboard)
┗ ※This is a local leaderboard per gameplay session. It is not saved when you close the game.
- Secret additions to the game, which you will have to find yourself! I'm not spoiling. :x
- New title design for the title screen, replacing the placeholder title.
- Badass ATTRACT MODE Cinematic FMV which is also the game's trailer.
- Added post-processing effects to gameplay, which in-turn may extend the load time for the stages by about half a second.
┗ ※To reflect this change, we have added an Options submenu where you can turn the effects setting ON/OFF if you feel uncomfortable while playing. The Ball Weight setting has also been moved there.
- More Announcer VA narration, primarily in the menus and title screen.
- Added a points cap of 2,000,000,000. If you somehow reach this, I will personally congratulate you!
◆◇◆◇CHANGES◆◇◆◇
- RUSH Mode's objective has been reworded.
┗ "Get through the ramps as fast as you can!!" -> "Follow the BLUE arrows to speed it UP!!"
- Miscellaneous UI and sound changes.
┗ Changed the BGM for Neon Casino.
┗ Changed the appearance of the controller diagram
┗ Improved legibility for menu navigation
┗ Improved gameplay HUD
┗ Improved Game Over screen (it's about time we did something about this, it's been the same since the pre-alpha!)
◆◇◆◇BUG FIXES◆◇◆◇
- [Rhythm Mode] Fixed a bug where if you are using Control Types B or C, and enter (or exit) Rhythm Mode, the control scheme automatically changes to Control Type A. Thank you to the one and only playtester who actually used the different control schemes and pointed this out to us.
- [Rhythm Mode] Fixed audio desyncing when you enter Rhythm Mode more than once.
- [Neon Casino] Fixed the bug where if you spam the table shaking buttons and the ball falls to the left of the roulette wheel, the ball will get stuck, preventing you to progress in the game.
- [Neon Casino] Fixed the pre-rendered cards falling effect so they don't freeze during Rush mode. The cards will fall at their normal speed instead of the timescale.
◆◇◆◇MISCELLANEOUS◆◇◆◇
- Updated the game to only accept XInput and Dualshock 4/Dualsense controllers.
┗ ※If you are using a Dualshock 4/Dualsense and use DS4Windows or SteamInput, please disable it. The game will think you have 2 controllers connected, which will cause double inputs.
┗ ※If you are using a generic Plug-and-play controller, see if there is an XInput mode you can toggle. Usually it is in the form of a small switch on the back.
┗ ※If you are using a very old controller that only uses DirectInput, please use an XInput wrapper, like x360ce. Otherwise, use the mouse and keyboard.
- Asset compression to compensate disk space.
