Version 1.3 Release
Version 1.3 Release
Check out this video for HOT Information:
Fighters now have voices!
When I was adding a new fighter, I was thinking of giving him actual voice lines. But then I realized that I ALSO have the ability to port all the voice tickets from PSO2 if I wanted, so, then came the idea to replace monster screeches with actual voice lines! A friend of mine had given me a whole list of voice tickets that aimed for that “manly” or gruff personality, so I took some creative liberty to check out which voice tickets would fit for each fighter, then port away!
The end result? The monster fighters definitely have more charm and personality. I personally love it!
Here is the list of Voice tickets used, and VA cited that did the work.
- Anga Fhandarge - EX Voice 01/Tetsuya Kakihara
- Bujin - EX Voice 37/Takahiro Sakurai
- Gau Ogakibaru - EX Voice 34/Fumihiko Tachiki
- Gibludan - EX Voice 22/Nobuo Tobita
- Golem - EX Voice 35/Fumihiko Tachiki
- Rockbear - EX Voice 150/Hiroki Yasumoto
- Wulfer - Wolf/Takuya Eguchi
※To be clear, these are NOT actual original VA talent I hired. They are simply voice clip assets ported from PSO2.
New fighter: Wulfer
After thoughtful consideration of adding new fighters to the roster, due to high requests for smaller characters, the first character I added to this wave of small fighters is Wulfer from PSO2:NGS! It feels a bit surreal to see him in Oracle, but he kicks ass just like how he does in NGS, except better, because his playstyle is almost 1:1 to the Knuckles weapon from PSO2!
If you played Knuckles back then as a Fighter main, you will surely love playing as this guy. He even has the iconic Backhand Smash as part of his moveset!
Though, there is a trade-off. Despite his ability to pummel his opponents, his damage dealt is relatively low, so make sure you keep up that momentum! He’s also quite light, and very prone to incoming attacks, similar to Anga.
New Stage: Omega Remnants
A third stage from Omega has appeared, and it’s strikingly familiar…
Enjoy epic battles accompanied by this dramatic backdrop, with Masquerade’s battle theme!
Other changes:
- Adjusted physics when fighters get hit. The velocity on impact will now reset to zero for the fighter receiving damage, and then that knockback is applied, instead of adding the force of the knockback to the current velocity, especially if the player is airborne. Because of this adjustment, certain attacks have increased knockback, while some have decreased for some fighters.
- Golem’s Normal Attack is now repeatable to JA, so you don’t have to step cancel after performing the second Normal.
- Rockbear’s roll attack now toggles hitboxes on and off rapidly while moving.
- Slight changes to weights of certain fighters.
- Fixed a rare bug where if the player is JA-ing (particularly with Normal Attacks) and they get hit or Step Cancel in a frame-perfect scenario, that player is unable to attack for the rest of the match.
- Dream Passport stage now displays your [My Card] description in the chat log.
- Improved certain UI.
- The game can now transition between Borderless Fullscreen and Windowed Mode by pressing ALT+ENTER. The window can also be resized. Do note the game is designed to be played in 16:9 aspect ratio, so the UI may look strange when using other aspect ratios (16:10, 4:3, etc.).
Regarding Update/Patch Frequency and Scheduling:
When it comes to scheduling SUPER PHANTASY FIGHTERS updates, I will release new patches on the following days:
- NGS Headlines
- PSO2 Maintenance days if I happen to be done polishing up a patch
If there are any delays, I will announce them ahead of time. Thank you for your support!
