Playtest Planet 2024!
Hey everyone!
Last night I showcased SUPER PHANTASY FIGHTERS at Playtest Planet 2024. I had a great time at the event!
Lots of people playtested and got to see how actual players play the game which produced mildly interesting results. Initially, I was under the assumption nobody at the event knew what PSO was, but to my surprise a good amount actually knew what this fangame was based off of. Even a fellow PSO2 player played my game in-person! The reactions people had when they saw my game were priceless as some thought this was a mod of an existing game, but their jaws dropped when I told them this game was entirely built from the ground-up, and took 7 months of development.
And, if you went to the event and you happen to read this, thank you for coming and playtesting my game! I hope you had fun playing as much as I had making it!
I will be transparent, and will share the list of feedback I've recieved:
- Animation startup times for large fighters need to be shortened by a lot
- Lots of button mashing with golem Normals
- Speed up walking/run animations or need to replace them entirely with a different animation
- Got a lot of feedback similar to Ingenoire’s (read here): less startup time, make attacks faster for the big fighters, slice animations apart if necessary.
